Spoilt Bafana can go to hell

BAFANA Bafana players should go and jump into the nearest lake. And the sooner they do this the better for South African football.

BAFANA Bafana players should go and jump into the nearest lake. And the sooner they do this the better for South African football.

These are just money-makers masquerading as players and they are using the national squad to enrich themselves.

We don't think they really understand the meaning of patriotism. They always claim to be devoted to their country but their actions point to the contrary. If they are not using Bafana to enrich themselves, why do they want to be paid exorbitantly by Safa to play for their own country. Safa are not financially stable, and this is the known fact.

Bafana Bafana players are unashamedly demanding R34million from Safa to play in the Confederations Cup. Safa have explained to the players that they could only afford R14million. But the players have turned down the offer.

Bafana Bafana must not think they are the only national team in this country.

Safa only receive an annual R98million sponsorship from Absa and Castle, and part of this money is budgeted for other national squads. It also cover salaries for employees, among other things.

We want to tell Bafana Bafana that we will not allow them to hold the country to ransom.

Why are they coming up with their outrageous demands a few days before the kick-off of the competition? What were they waiting for?

What is disturbing here is that it is not the first time they are holding the country to ransom on the eve of a big tournament.

We fully back Safa on their stance not to beg the players to honour the tournament.

We are saying in unison with Safa - they can go to hell with their demands.

These players should be told that we have enough players who can come and do the job far better than most of those in the squad.

We urge Safa to take harsh stance on these players: they must not allow them anywhere near Bafana Bafana after the Confederations Cup.

We don't want any embarrassments in the build-up and during the World Cup.
