Hyundai drives WC, Confed Cup

GIANT car manufacturer Hyundai has donated 66 cars and 12 luxury buses to the organising committee for the Confederations Cup and 2010 World Cup.

GIANT car manufacturer Hyundai has donated 66 cars and 12 luxury buses to the organising committee for the Confederations Cup and 2010 World Cup.

The cars and buses will be used to transport the eight participating countries in the Confederations Cup and 32 in the World Cup.

Also benefitting from the deal will be the officials, referees and dignitaries. The company will also supply drivers and technical support people for the duration of the events.

Skhumbuzo Macozoma, the organising committee's head of transport, commended the car company for contributing to the success of the two competitions.

Sean Kim, senior vice- president of the company, said: "The opportunity to provide VIP transport at this year's tournament gives us the high visibility we need in Africa to build wider awareness of our brand."

Hyundai is theofficial automotive partner of Fifa until 2014 when Brazil host the World Cup. Their marriage with Fifa started in 2002.
