Irvin Khoza, the organising committee's chairperson, attributed this to the completion of stadiums that will be used for the tournament, including those built from scratch.
"As a country, we have made some tremendous achievements since the historic announcement by Fifa president Sepp Blatter," he said.
"All the stadiums will be complete in the next few months."
"We urge South Africans to join forces with us and the municipalities by embracing the Confederations Cup and the World Cup.
"In line with our promise of making it an African World Cup, we are excited that African countries have already started benefitting from our hosting of the Confederations Cup and 2010 World Cup," Khoza said.
"We are hoping that Bafana Bafana will also do well on the pitch, and that is why we, the PSL, are shortening our season from August to February to enable coach Joel Santana to prepare for the 2010 World Cup."
Khoza also praised the government for delivering on all the 17 guarantees to Blatter and his executive.
He also commended people employed in the construction of all the stadiums and other World Cup-related projects.
One of the new stadiums built from scratch is the Nelson Mandela Sports Complex in Port Elizabeth in Eastern Cape.
It was handed over to the organising committee on Sunday and is the first newly built stadium to be officially opened for the Confederations Cup tournament.
