JOHANNESBURG police arrested 107 people for various crimes in Soweto at the weekend.

JOHANNESBURG police arrested 107 people for various crimes in Soweto at the weekend.

Inspector Kay Makhubela said the suspects were caught during anti-crime operations in Zola, Moletsane, Zondi and Mofolo North.

"The suspects were arrested for crimes such as possession of a stolen vehicle, theft, shoplifting, malicious damage to property, drinking in public and being drunk in public."

They are expected to appear in the Protea magistrate's court today. - Sapa
