Jomo Cosmos development player Sheldon Lawrence has been roped into the Amajita squad to play two international friendlies against Uruguay.

Jomo Cosmos development player Sheldon Lawrence has been roped into the Amajita squad to play two international friendlies against Uruguay.

The South African Under-23 national side arrived in South America in the capital Montevideo for the two games on Sunday and Tuesday.

Lawrence replaced SuperSport United's Kamohelo Mokotjo, who was dropped from the team by coach Serame Letsoaka due to injury.

"He is here in Uruguay with us, we have been assessing him for quite some time. We believe he will add value to the team," said Letsoaka.

Just like Uruguay, Amajita are using the two games to prepare themselves for the World Youth Championships in Egypt in September.

Some of the quality players with Amajita include Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Thulani Ngcepe.
