WHAT'S Gauteng MEC for agriculture Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko's rush to get a new car? Is she afraid that she's going to have to give it back, like S'bu Ndebele?

What's more, the blinking thing isn't even environmentally friendly. A million bucks for one car when she could get three hybrids for that!

Not to mention what she should really be using the money for. There are so many vacancies in her department, I'm actually surprised it's still functioning.

And let's not get into the outstanding environmental impact assessments that still need to be processed.

Please, can we have some focus here?

I really don't care that her R1million car has been stolen. I would far rather have her establish the mandate for her newly renamed department. Agriculture and rural development can't be making the environmentalists and conservationists among us all warm and fuzzy - environmental affairs are vital.

Don't believe me? Just look at the mess that some water departments are in and tell me why we should not be worried.
