MKVA has a history of employing disproportionate force against civilians and sabotaging state installations such as railway lines and high voltage power transmitters.
Instead of standing up against the South African Defence Force that was running amok in the late 1960s, mid 1970s and early 1980s, many "comrades" escaped the madness that was the SADF by taking refuge in neighbouring countries.
Once they were there they ambitiously embarked on establishing paramilitary structures that they mistook for adequately equipped military camps capable of producing hard-core guerillas who were going to topple the apartheid regime through military means.
As we know, a negotiated settlement and not an armed struggle brought us the 1994 political miracle.
If indeed they are so sure of their military prowess, why then slug it out with an old civilian woman like Helen Zille?
The MKVA should at least have saved face and delegated such a demonstration against Zille to Sanco or the ANC Women's League.
