The National Congress of School Governing Bodies willbe a coordinating structure representing SGBs nationally, the president of the body's national interim committee, Hlobo Monokoane, saidyesterday.
This followed a meeting in Bloemfontein at the weekend, which led to the election of the national interim committee.
"The first task of the men and woman elected to the interim committee would be to form provincial structures and ultimately organise a national elective conference."
The deputy-president of the new organisation, Rankoe Kgomotso, of the Northern Cape, said they would primarily focus on helping SGBs run schools in the country. - Sapa
