Speedy and Seate work on album

FORMER bandmates Herald "Speedy" Matlhaku and Stoan Seate have teamed up again for a new project.

FORMER bandmates Herald "Speedy" Matlhaku and Stoan Seate have teamed up again for a new project.

The duo are releasing an album, dissolving rumours that there was bad blood between Bongo Muffin and ex-member Matlhaku.

Well-known Afro-pop singer Matlhaku dropped a bombshell 10 years ago when he left Bongo Muffin, opting to go solo.

Matlhaku said his collaboration with Seate only signals growth as musicians.

"The idea of the album started a long time ago," he said.

"We have always entertained the idea of doing an album together. Since we have been busy with our solo projects we never got enough time."

Asked if it was the end of Bongo Muffin, Seate said he was still part of the group.

"This project is long overdue. Though Speedy left Bongo Muffin we have remained close friends. I have been featured on his albums," he said.

Matlhaku said though he was not part of Bongo Muffin, they still worked closely, and he sometimes became involved in the group's production behind the scenes.
