NIANELL, the country's latest popular crossover singer, will perform at the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City Casino next month.

Nianell's supporting act is Melanie Lowe, the second runner-up from the first South African Idols season.

Locals know Nianell as the "Voice of an Angel" because of her ability to comfortably sing four octaves. Versatility is also high on her list as she easily flits from pop to country to folk to R&B to classic and even Celtic.

Looking and sounding like a world-class star, the Namibian-born singer and songwriter has already bagged two Sama's, four platinum-selling albums and one gold-selling DVD award. Her composition, Who Painted the Moon?, has sold more than 2,5million copies abroad.

Music lovers can look forward to a combination of English and Afrikaans songs at this special concert. Nianell will be performing songs from Who Painted the Moon?, Angel Tongue and Life's Gift.

She will also perform a selection of tracks fromher latest album called I Know I'm Lucky.

Warming up the stage for Nianell will be Lowe whose debut album, Yesterday's Diary, has sold more than 12500 copies.

Lowe's duet on the Garth Taylor, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton single, Islands in the Stream and Cabin Fever, a duet with fellow Idols contestant Ezra Lingeveldt, has won her Samas.

Tickets for a superb musical evening on Saturday July 25 at 8.30pm cost between R90 and R105.
