Laugh yourself silly with the best comics

JUDGING by the number comedy festivals taking place it is obvious that South Africans appreciate humour.

A new comedy show, Mind the Gap, takes place on June 10 at the Grand West Casino in Cape Town.

It will feature some of the country's finest comedians, such as Joey Rasdien, Kurt Schoonraad, Chris Forrest, Ntosh Madlingozi, pictured and Ndumiso Lindi and a few exciting newcomers.

Madlingozi is one of the best black comedians in the country. His fresh brand of in-your-face laissez faire humour has already found favour at many venues around Gauteng.

He has featured in shows such as Blacks Only, Heavyweight Comedy Jam, Tshwane Comedy Festival and 90% Xhosa Comedy Festival.

Rasdien is the epitome of South African comedy today. His endearing stage persona is intellectually absurd and physically hysterical. This belies his other profession - high-level fund manager and financial adviser.

Schoonraad has grown by leaps and bounds since he first appeared on the comedy circuit, and is now one of the most popular and asked for comedians in SA.

Lindi is well known for his trademark funky urban style and he brilliantly impersonates the Madiba jive. Forrest is very funny and people will enjoy his jokes.

Tickets range from R109 to R130 and are available at Computicket.
