LEGENDARY accordion player Vusi Ximba dazzled the ICC Arena in Durban during the hilarious 99 percent Zulu comedy show on Saturday.
Ximba, who had running battles with the SABC's Ukhozi FM in the past, had an opportunity to perform his tongue-in-cheek songs.
Some of his songs had been banned on Ukhozi FM because of his use of "indecent language".
The house went wild on Saturday and people laughed their lungs out listening to his songs.
Though he looked happy and enjoyed the response from the audience, Ximba has not been in a studio for years due to poor health.
Sfiso Nene of So You Think You're Funny fame shared the stage with Cape Town's Marc Lottering and Siyabonga Radebe, the multi-talented comedian and actor who featured in drama series such as A Place Called Home and Bay of Plenty.
Others who kept the audience laughing nonstop were Ndumiso Lindi, Celeste Ntuli and Sne Mkhize.
Most comedians at the show made jokes mainly about resident, Jacob Zuma and his wives; the R1million gift that construction companies gave to Transport Minister Sibusiso Ndebele; and about Western Cape Premier Helen Zille.
As usual, Nene made jokes about taxi drivers by suggesting that doctors should consider asking for the assistance of taxi drivers in their protests since taxi drivers knew better how to engage in protest action. Taxi drivers would know what to say when presenting the memorandum on behalf of the doctors.
Nene once came under fire when taxi organisations forced him to apologise for making a joke on Ukhozi FM about some of the clothing brands that taxi drivers wore.
