A gang of fraudsters allegedly robbed a 42-year-old woman of R5000 she had withdrawn from a bank in Kempton Park, police said yesterday.
"When she left the bank, a man walked past her and dropped money. Just then, a woman walked towards her and told her they should share the money," said Captain Manyaza Ralidzhivha.
The woman then allegedly convinced her to walk with her to a street a few metres away so that they could share the money, he said.
But three other fraudsters were waiting, pretending to be police officers.
The men ordered the women to hand over all the money they had, including the R5000. - Sapa
