An arrangement has been made for Sithole, 46, to move out of his house in Dobsonville, Soweto,and to live about 40km away in Brackenhurst, in Alberton, Ekurhuleni, with his sister.
Sithole, a legends coach at Orlando Pirates, was granted R5000 bail in the Roodepoort magistrate's court yesterday.
From today until the conclusion of the case he will live in Ekurhuleni.
Magistrate Ruby Matthys ordered him to report to the Brackenhurst police station once a week.
Sithole's neighbour, who did not want to be named, said that moving to Brackenhurst was for his safety since the community was angry about the incident.
Sithole, who now goes by the surname of Tsheole, allegedly stabbed Thulani Ndlovu, 31, in the chest on Sunday afternoon.
Police said Sithole had gone to Ndlovu to demand R100 owed to him.
But when Ndlovu told him that he did not have any money, Sithole allegedly grabbed him by the neck, took out a knife and stabbed him.
Sithole turned himself in to the police on Monday.
Prosecutor Given Twala told the court that the state was not going to oppose bail because it did not foresee that Sithole would interfere with witnesses.
Matthys asked why Sithole had to move house, to which Twala responded: "The accused and the deceased live on the same street in Dobsonville. Three witnesses also live there."
Twala said bail should be fixed at R5000.
Sithole's attorney, Mafori Mphahlele, pleaded with the court to fix the bail at R3000, saying his client could not afford R5000.
On Tuesday Sithole told the court that he earned R7000 a month.
Matthys told Sithole: "You must not move out of where you will be staying without the investigating officer knowing. You must not come in contact with witnesses. You must report to the Brackenhurst police station every Wednesday starting next week."
Matthys then postponed the hearing to June 30.
