KWAZULU-NATAL'S Health MEC Sibongiseni Dhlomo has told businesspeople to report any tender irregularities "to end corruption" in his department.

KWAZULU-NATAL'S Health MEC Sibongiseni Dhlomo has told businesspeople to report any tender irregularities "to end corruption" in his department.

Officials in the department are widely perceived to collude on tenders with corrupt operators before potential contracts are advertised.

"I know there are investigations now going on in the department," Dhlomo said.

"But we encourage people to come forward with any information that will help us to deal with allegations of corruption."

He also said managerial posts at hospitals and district offices had not been filled due to financial pressures.

For more than a year, the health department has had to operate under an acting head, Yoliswa Mbele.
