THERE were 10 goals scored in the opening two games of the Vodacom Promotional League national playoffs at Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane yesterday.

Steenberg United of Western Cape payed to a 3-all draw with Newcastle Sicilians from KwaZulu-Natal in the opening match of the event.

The KwaZulu-Natal side lead twice.

Abdul Aziz Solomons was the hero for United after scoring a hat trick.

Sicilians scored through Tabane Masuku, Richard Madi and Nkosinathi Nene's 89th-minute penalty.

Sicilians finished the match with 10 men after Thembinkosi Mbele was sent off by referee Robert Sithole for a rough tackle on a United player.

In the day's other match, United FC of Free State went berserk when they hammered the hapless Real Madrid of Northern Cape 4-0 in another match played yesterday.
