Habana promises fireworks

BULLS wing Bryan Habana promised a repeat of 2007, when his virtuoso performance helped the Bulls win the Super 14, against the Chiefs in this year's final at Loftus on Saturday.

BULLS wing Bryan Habana promised a repeat of 2007, when his virtuoso performance helped the Bulls win the Super 14, against the Chiefs in this year's final at Loftus on Saturday.

In that year Habana scored a late try that helped the Bulls beat the Sharks 20-19 in a thriller in Durban. Now he is eager to help the Pretoria side reclaim the trophy they lost to the Crusaders last year.

The fact that they beat the Crusaders 36-23 in the semifinal at Loftus on Saturday, has made the South Africans the favourites for the southern hemisphere competition.

"I'm honoured to be part of a quality team and am looking forward to the challenges against the Chiefs who are also a solid team in this competition," said the Bulls flyer after yesterday's training session at Loftus. "We are so close to fulfilling our dreams of lifting the trophy."

His concern, though, is his team's tendency to fall behind.

The Bulls squad: Zane Kirchner, Akona Ndungane, Jaco Pretorius/Marius Delport, Wynand Olivier/Jaco Pretorius, Habana, Morne Steyn, Fourie du Preez, Pierre Spies, Dewald Potgieter, Deon Stegman, Victor Matfield, Bakkies Botha, Werner Kruger, Derick Kuun and Gurtho Steenkamp.

Kickoff is at 5.30pm.
