Call for speedy probe into murder

IFP NATIONAL chairperson Zanele Magwaza-Msibi has called on police to speed up investigations into the killing of councillor Ntuthuko Ngcobo, who was killed on Monday in the second attack on the party's officials in a week.

Magwaza-Masibi said there was something fishy about the brutal attacks on IFP councillors. She said Ngcobo's killing showed that the attacks were being AIMED at IFP members.

Ngcobo, 46, was killed IN Entembisweni, Greytown. Another IFP councillor, Divas Mncwabe, was attacked and narrowly escaped death when gunmen fired at his vehicle on Friday.

The South Coast entrepreneur was driving near Magabeni township in Umkomaas when two gunmen shot at him. He lost control of his car but managed to jump out and escape.

Magwaza-Msibi said both attacks were politically motivated. "It's very important that those responsible for the death of Ntuthuko Ngcobo be brought to book as soon as possible."

She blamed his death on people who would do anything to get their victims' positions.
