THE sold-out signs went up at Loftus Versfeld yesterday for tickets for the highly anticipated Vodacom Super 14 rugby final between the Bulls and Chiefs on Saturday.

The Bulls announced at lunch-time yesterday that all the tickets allocated to Computicket, as well as those assigned for credit card bookings, have been sold out.

Supporters who have been queuing at Loftus Versfeld since Saturday and have received a yellow number, will in all probability still be able to purchase tickets returned from other allocations, but as far as the rest are concerned, no more tickets are available.

The Bulls beat title holders the Crusaders 36-23 in the semifinal at the same venue on Saturday.

The Chiefs, on the other hand, booked their first appearance in the southern hemisphere championship final on Friday by withstanding a late Hurricanes onslaught to emerge 14-10 victors in New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Paul Treu, coach of the Springbok sevens team, yesterday released Robert Ebersohn to join the South African under-20 team as they prepare to depart for Japan for the International Rugby Board's Junior World Championship.

Ebersohn, the current Sasol SA Young Player of the Year, has been named as captain of the SA Under-20 team, coached by Eric Sauls. - Sapa
