THE Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City, Joburg, is to present the sensual and alluring dance production, Tango Nights.

The show opens for a brief season from June 17 to 21 as part of a national tour. Presented by the Cape Town-based company Bovim Ballet, Tango Nights combines a rock ballet fused with high impact production and a visual feast that is set to dazzle audiences of all ages.

The show boasts music of artists such as Roxanne from the film Moulin Rouge and many other good musicians. Tango Nights offers a powerful fusion of fashion and dance, brought to life through collaborations with international designers who have designed the exquisite costumes.

The cast takes the audience on a dazzling journey to Cafe Tango, where the production is set, telling the unmistakeable love story through tantalising dance sequences that leave the audiences wanting more.

The ensemble cast adds the twists and turns in the story, enticing the audience all the way to the show's ultimate dramatic conclusion.

Sean Bovim uses classical ballet because of its physicality, musicality and creativity. He also shows off extraordinary technique combined with a fusion of styles.

Bovim's work has been seen all over South Africa and as far afield as the US, Russia, Denmark, Spain, the Edinburgh Festival and Ireland.

Tango Nights began its tour in February and has already enjoyed sell-out seasons at Artscape and Oude Libertas in Cape Town, and received standing ovations in Durban and Port Elizabeth.
