Welcome to your new-look Sowetan

IT IS HERE.

IT IS HERE.

By now you will have noticed that the paper in your hands looks different to the one you had last Friday.

If you look closer you will notice that our motto has also changed from The Soul Truth and is now In The Know, On The Move.

For that is you. What we bring you today is a paper that recognises that you are on the move towards the top. From today Sowetan has a fresher, crisper and bolder look. But the changes are not only cosmetic.

This week we will introduce some of the most gifted and thought-provoking columnists in South Africa. Tomorrow commentator and writer Andile Mnxitama starts his column, Bolekaja! (Yoruba for come down let's fight!). He will alternate with another respected voice, Oupa Ngwenya, whose column, Home Truths, you can expect next Tuesday.

On Wednesdays author of the highly acclaimed Thabo Mbeki and the Battle for the Soul of the ANC, William-Mervin Gumede, will share some of his incisive political commentary with you.

On Fridays, Redi Direko continues with her stylish but hard-hitting commentary. This time it carries the name, Redi's Take.

Setting the tone for the weekend's sporting debates is all-rounder Rams Mabote, whose column, Off-Side, will be as irreverent as it is thought-provoking. While we will not patronise you with stories that are far-fetched and meaningless, we will entertain and inform.

We will publish news stories and features that speak to you as an intelligent reader on your way to the top of your game.

Though we retain our mantle as the ultimate reference on national football, the bumper sports edition that you can expect today and every Monday hereafter debunking the long-held myth that our readers are only interested in certain sporting codes.

Weekdays will never be the same again.
