LIMPOPO Premier Cassel Mathale has called on contractors doing business with government to finish their projects "on time".

Mathale, known as "Mr No Nonsense", said contractors who did not finish their projects in time would no longer be given contracts.

The premier was speaking at a Sinqobile rally in Tzaneen on Saturday.

He said too many projects were left unfinished which stalled service delivery.

He said the ANC had promised speedy service delivery during the elections so it was "therefore important" for government to deliver on its promises.

He said some communities had to live without water after contractors left their work uncompleted despite being paid.

Mathale's speech comes a week after the release of the auditor general's report that Limpopo officials were the most corrupt in the country.

"We will not fold our arms and watch when certain individuals tarnish the beautiful image of our government," he said.
