Eskom nuke plan will raise electricity costs

Eskom has expanded its nuclear programme with a revised plan of study to build nuclear power stations at Duynefontein, Bantamsklip and Thyspunt.

Eskom has expanded its nuclear programme with a revised plan of study to build nuclear power stations at Duynefontein, Bantamsklip and Thyspunt.

It seems very coincidental that Eskom's nuclear multiplication plans go hand in glove with a demand for a 34 percent price hike for electricity.

The majority of people in South Africa simply will not be able to afford to live because of the domino effect that increases in electricity will mean. Once again this shows that nuclear energy is the most expensive form of energy on the planet.

People have until June 23 to respond to this revised plan of study. It is on Eskom's website at www.eskom.co.za/eia under the Nuclear 1 link.
