DJ Sbu won't be facing any charges after crashing into a security guard's vehicle two months ago.

Instead, Sowetan has discovered that the case of reckless and negligence driving against Sbu, real name Sbusiso Leope, was unexpectedly thrown out of court wto weeks after the crash.

The popular DJ allegedly caused the crash in Sandton and then fled the scene.

The ADT security vehicle was carrying three guards.

Sbu was driving his girlfriend Terry Pheto's car when he reportedly crashed into the other vehicle, causing his vehicle to flip as well as injuring one of the security guards.

He later told our sister paper Sunday World that he fled because he "panicked" after overturning the car.

Police spokesperson Inspector Sanku Tsunke said Sbu's case was withdrawn in the Randburg magistrate's court in March, the same month in which the accident took place.

"The case was withdrawn after the complainant decided not to proceed with the case."

Sbu was bust in December 2007 for clocking 257km in a 120km zone.

He was sentenced to nine months in jail or a fine of R7000.
