Macbute Sinyabi is dedicating the first defence of his South African featherweight belt on Sunday afternoon to the late Ludumo Galada.

"The Mac Man" will defend against Desmond Samuels at Nasrec Arena.

"This is for my late brother Ludumo Galada," said Sinyabi yesterday during his pre-fight medical at Nasrec. "Galada was not only my friend but a blood brother to me."

Samuels did his pre-fight medical back home in Cape Town.

Galada, who was also from Mdantsane, died last year in a car accident in Aliwal North. He was the WBF featherweight champion at the time.

Sinyabi's first defence of the belt he won against Tshepo Mofokeng in March will be presented by Rainbow Promotion.

If fight records are anything to go by, then this fight is a mismatch. Sinyabi boasts 10 knockouts from 11 fights while Samuels has only four wins and a draw.

This will be Sinyabi' s first fight under new trainer Nick Durandt. The latter, said he was glad to have lived up to the promise he made to Samuels trainer Ashley Whiteboy 12 months ago.

"Cape Town is dying to produce a champions but it won't be on May 24 unfortunately," he said.

But Samuels caused a stir in April last year, sharing spoils with vastly experienced veteran Edward Mpofu over six rounds.
