In previous years, Cosatu initiated that a percentage of every employee's salary should be deducted under the banner of job creation - and the union federation pocketed millions.

In previous years, Cosatu initiated that a percentage of every employee's salary should be deducted under the banner of job creation - and the union federation pocketed millions.

Up to today, Cosatu has not explained to the employees what happened to that money.

Now that Vodacom decides to be listed on the JSE, Cosatu protests, fearing job losses. The money that was deducted from our salaries should be injected into creating jobs for those who would lose jobs and not only from Vodacom, but all the other companies, to show that they really care about South Africans.

Absa was an example that most of its shares are now controlled by Barclay's Bank, but Cosatu did not interfere against that transaction. Let Vodacom do its best to try to attract investors into this country because Cosatu has misused our money.
