Minister in the Presidency Collins Chabane says reports that his office will duplicate the work of new ministries under the Jacob Zuma administration are not true.

Chabane, who is responsible for performance monitoring and evaluation, said people should not get confused and should allow the administration to execute its mandate.

He maintained that there would be no duplication of work.

Chabane was speaking on Saturday at a party organised by the community of Saselemani to congratulate him on his appointment.

Chabane said the greatest challenge for the new government was his office and that of Trevor Manuel, which had no budget.

The two structures are among those that never received budgets when the treasury allocated funds to state departments.
