The sale takes place at the Nasrec showgrounds (new entrance next to Gate 2), Rand Show Road, south of Johannesburg, next Thursday, starting at 10.30am.
As has become customary at these sales, there will be an excellent selection of bank repossessions and liquidations.
An interesting deviation from the norm is the possible inclusion of a number of Dynapac compactors.
However, at the time of going to press this still had to be confirmed, says Park Village Auctions operations manager LeRoy Augustyn.
He said the inventory has been generated by financial institutions like Standard Bank Vehicle and Asset Finance, Nedbank Limited, and Debis Fleet Management.
Augustyn says there is "an improvement" in the quality of the inventory, probably reflecting the current economic conditions, which have obliged well-established companies to re-balance their fleets and curb costs.
"Having said that, however, we have seen absolutely no decrease in demand for auction vehicles, and for every seller there appears to be a willing buyer," Augustyn said.
"Demand comes from a number of sources, including independents who are launching their own companies - as well as existing fleet operators, who have weathered the economic storm and see the current market as an opportunity to inexpensively enlarge their fleets."
Some of the brand names featuring at the sale include Mercedes Benz, Toyota, Freightliner, Scania, FAW, DAF, Volvo, Tata, International, Nissan, Hendred, Kearney and Paramount.
