The world can rest assured that South Africa and Africa will host the best Fifa World Cup next year, thousands of visitors were told at the Tourism Indaba in Durban.

More than 13000 delegates from around the world are attending the four-day conference at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre in Durban.

South African Tourism Board chairman Jabu Mabuza assured them that the tournament would be the best the world has seen since its inception nearly 70 years ago.

Despite the economic recession all over the world, South Africa would face the world proudly in 2010.

Mabuza said South Africa's tourism was stable and had contributed substantially to the country's economy, despite the recession. - Canaan Mdletshe
