Grammy Award-winning R&B star Tony Rich is coming to SA for two exclusive performances at the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City next month.
The US star, pictured, who is known for his smooth and soulful music, will be performing in Jozi on July 10 and 11.
His music blends soul, jazz and funk influences with insightful lyrics.
Rich began his career as a songwriter and producer, writing for musicians such as Elton John, Boyz II Men, TLC and Johnny Gill, before scoring a Grammy in 1997.
The album Words not only won him the coveted best R&B album award, but became famous worldwide. He then released Birdseye, Resurrected and Pictures and last year he releasedExist.
Rich will be supported by local singer Thabo Mdluli. As well as winning the Samas, Mdluli has backed musicians such as Miriam Makeba, Abdullah Ibrahim, the late TK and Danny K and Caiphus Semenya.
