Six men were yesterday found guilty of armed robbery by the Witbank magistrate's court.

Renny Mabena Bafedi, 32, Thomas Skosana, 32, Colleen Makhabane, 32, Sipho Mabunda,29, Robert Gumede, 29, and Nelson Shabangu, 40, were found guilty of unlawfully entering a house in Kromdraai Plot near Witbank on January 7 2004.

They blindfolded two farm workers and forced them to stay in the house.

"When the owner returned with her son and daughter, they were also manhandled and blindfolded," said police spokesperson Leonard Hlathi.

They stole the bank card of the house owner and forced her to give them the pin code, but she gave them the wrong one.

When they failed to withdraw the cash they returned and ransacked the house .

Hlathi said the following day the organised crime unit tracked down all the suspects.

The court yesterday postponed the sentencing after Bafedi, who was out on bail, failed to appear.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Inspector Fanie Sibande on 078-701-5919 .
