Now is the time to deliver

Now that the people have spoken and one-time comrades can look each other in the eye and smile congratulations, we need to roll up our sleeves as Nelson Mandela once said when he took over in 1994, and prepare to dirty our hands with hard work.

It is not the Zuma administration that will deliver but the people who have spoken, either for or against him in the ballot boxes.

All that we shall need from his administration is facilitation and ridding service delivery of the many bottlenecks experienced in the past.

Through your paper I would like to drive my Youth Against Crime initiative with a view to throttle the very root of crime and skill its perpetrators.

It would serve my project well (duly registered as a NPO) to make a contribution to the reduction of crime in our beloved South Africa.

I would like to receive the necessary exposure by getting the vulnerable youth in enrichment programmes that we shall identify as their strong points, thus making them see a brighter side of themselves and be gainfully engaged.

A local police inspector, Captain Jackson Moodley, has given me his full support.

I know I can count on you for the necessary publicity that will require one of of your staff members to interview me and, hopefully, this idea will spread throughout the nine provinces.
