South African gospel diva Winnie Mashaba got a rousing welcome from her young fans during her tour of three Limpopo schools in Bolobedu, outside Modjadjiskloof, at the weekend.

Mashaba was in the area to deliver a motivational talk to the students on invitation by the Greater Letaba municipality.

Mashaba's tour started at Maolwe High School, Mokwasele village, where she warned the students not to drop out of school because of peer pressure.

Accompanied by local mayor Joshua Matlou, Mashaba also urged pupils to limit their social time and work hard to improve their performance to ensure better results at the end of the year.

She later went to Modika Secondary School in Khekhutini village, near Modjadji Royal Palace.

At Mokope High School in Matshwi village, Mashaba's young fans went out of control demanding that she sing one of her songs and sign autographs.

She warned pupils not to be misled into dropping out of school because life is tough without education.

"Life is very difficult out there if you have too little education," Mashaba said.
