Making a difference in women's lives is what entrepreneur Shadi Molope has been striving for since she launched her business four years ago.

Under her company, Tshekamo Event Production and Coordination, Molope has organised several seminars aimed at empowering up-and-coming entrepreneurs.

"The company aims to empower ordinary women by creating a platform from which we can discuss issues challenging us, be it in our families, careers and even life skills. We want to provide women with the necessary tools to improve their lives and to accomplish their goals," she says.

Molope recently hosted her third women empowerment seminar at Gold Reef City in Johannesburg, where women enjoyed talks from image consultant and founder of SA Image Institute Doris Msibi, motivational speaker and life coach Tumi Frazier and Lindi Keikelame, an expert on cancer issues.

Molope said the session was to provide women with "cutting-edge ideas and success pointers" they can use to uplift their lives.

At the event Msibi encouraged women to look after themselves to improve their self-esteem and confidence.

Msibi also encouraged women to take note of their dress code and body types.

Frazier, a respected entrepreneur and founder of Losika Consulting, got everyone thinking when she spoke about how most women see themselves - and how that attitude makes or breaks most women's careers.

She said most women fail to develop to their full potential because of the inner or hidden image they hold on to.

"Once you have developed a healthy self-concept you must commit to an action plan. Write affirmations, change your patterns and grab those opportunities," said Frazier.
