Limpopo could have an Absa Premiership team next season despite the fact the three National First Division sides from the province - Black Leopards, Dynamos and Winners Park - missed out on promotion this season.

That is according to Limpopo mining magnate Tim Tebeila, who hinted that he will purchase a Premiership team soon.

"We need to have a team in the elite league in the province to ensure that the Peter Mokaba sports complex is utilised effectively prior to and after the 2010 Soccer World Cup. The only way the complex will not become a white elephant is to have professional matches staged there," said Tebeila, who also owns Limpopo Vodacom League side FC Tebcon.

When asked about the possibility of buying Coastal Stream log leaders Carara Kicks, should they be promoted, he said: "We do not wish to specify which team we are keen to buy. Instead, we need a team that will meet our terms and conditions, considering that we disagreed with Bloemfontein Celtic earlier because the team could not relocate to Limpopo.

"The presence of a Premiership team will create opportunities for youngsters, hawkers and bring more tourists to this province of peace."
