Defending champions Blue Bulls, who comprehensively outplayed a poor, negative Western Province side 36-16 in Pretoria on Saturday, will meet the Leopards who beat SWD Eagles 32-16 in George in the one semifinal.

The Sharks XV, unbeaten after six league matches and the quarterfinal against the Lions which they won by a flattering 20-7, play Griquas in Durban this weekend after the Kimberley side had beaten Free State 30-25.

The Sharks were deserved winners against a Lions side that won only two of their six league outings against teams of the calibre of the Blue Bulls, the Leopards and Griquas. Justice was probably done, though the Sharks XV will have to improve dramatically if they wish to make the title theirs.
