Mpumalanga off-road motoring enthusiasts will be treated to the Sasol SA Rally Championships in their neighbourhood from today until Sunday.

Off-track entertainment started yesterday afternoon with the Sasol Pit Stop in Sabie.

The public were able to experience a comprehensive motor sport programme and meet racing celebrities.

They viewed the cars close-up and chatted to the crews at Sabie Town Square.

Sasol will run a "win a ride in a rally car" competition.

This year's rally will start from the Sabie Town Square at 11am today and immediately take the various crews into a series of four gravel road stages, all located close to Sabie town.

It will also be the first time that the new route note system will be used on this event.

The rally consists of 14 special stages covering 170km of racing, with a total route of 470km.
