Obikwa wine comes home

For the Obikwa people of the Cape, the ostrich had great significance. Its long neck and bulbous body were seen as symbols of a resilient life force that enabled the bird to survive under harsh conditions.

For the Obikwa people of the Cape, the ostrich had great significance. Its long neck and bulbous body were seen as symbols of a resilient life force that enabled the bird to survive under harsh conditions.

In a tribute to the people who inhabited the early Cape, Obikwa wines can be easily recognised by the radiant yellow ostrich that poses elegantly on the winery's labels.

A total of 43 countries have come to understand this symbol of a great wine.

Obikwa has become one of the biggest and most respected South African wines on the international market and now the yellow ostrich has returned home.

Previously, these refreshing wines were made only for export but now they have been made available in South Africa.

The Obikwa range includes the fruity Chenin Blanc, the invigorating Sauvignon Blanc and the mellow Merlot.

For the convenience of customers, the bottles are sealed with a screw cap and they retail at the comfortable price of R23 for the 750ml bottle and R43 for the 1,5-litre bottle.

Obikwa wines are available at leading supermarkets and liquor outlets.
