The Local Organising Committee will meet on Friday for an assessment of the progress of all the stadiums for the Confederations Cup and 2010 World Cup.

Topping the agenda at this meeting, scheduled for Safa House, will be the overlying challenges at all the 10 venues of the two competitions.

LOC chairperson Irvin Khoza said they were satisfied that preparations were going well in all Confederations Cup and World Cup-related projects.

Khoza also dismissed as untrue reports that they were unhappy with the state of affairs in the construction of Mbombela Stadium, in KaNyamanzane, Mpumalanga.

"That is totally untrue," he said. "The only challenge we were faced with a few days ago concerning Mbombela Stadium was around a land dispute"

"I would like to assure everybody that there is not even a single problem in Mbombela after the land dispute was resolved.

"Our technical committee people were in Mbombela last week for an inspection.

"I must say we are happy that everything is going well at all the venues."
