And in a rare case of good news, the pirates released a Lebanese-owned cargo ship after they found out it was headed to pick up food aid for hungry Somalis.

The attack on the MV Atlantica before dawn yesterday took place 48km off the coast of Yemen, said Commodore Alexandre Santos Fernandes of Nato. - Sapa-AP
