The Independent Electoral Commission said yesterday that registration for special voting was re-opened yesterday to accommodate people who missed the chance to register before.

In KwaZulu-Natal, about 10000 people qualified for special votes in hospitals, old age and retirement homes as well as security personnel and IEC workers.

Provincial electoral officer Mawethu Mosery said the extension was to enable more people to register for special voting. - Sne Masuku
