Polokwane in Limpopo yesterday became a hive of activity as the who's who of South African politics descended on the city in a bid to charm voters ahead of the general elections on Wednesday.

The ANC held its rally at the Peter Mokaba stadium, while Cope congregated at the nearby Seshego Stadium.

Thousands of supporters of the two parties were bussed in from their respective areas to listen to their leaders' elections message.

The ANC rally was addressed by the party's president Jacob Zuma via a satellite link from the Coca-Cola Park Stadium in Johannesburg, while Cope's presidential candidate Bishop Mvume Dandala addressed the party's faithful.
