Mokopane Academy, the ambitious SAB Regional league champions of Safa Waterberg region has lined-up a training programme and a number of friendly matches in preparations for the playoffs and the under-15 Nike Premier Cup.

The Mokopane-based team will contest for promotion to the Limpopo Vodacom Promotional League against four other district champions and also participate in the Manchester United under-15 Nike Premier Cup.

Both activities are scheduled for next month.

Despite being a development academy, Mokopane's players dominate the provincial teams, 11 players were part of the Limpopo team. The team clinched the Safa Metropolitan under-19 national championships recently in Durban.

Six of their players were with the provincial U-21 team in the SAB League championships that ended in Bloemfontein on Saturday. That team won a bronze medal at the event.

Andries "Local is lekker" Sebola, pictured, the former Orlando Pirates' prolific striker and Mokopane's mentor said the boys were ready for the playoffs and all they wanted now is the date on which to play.

"The boys are doing well with the programme that we have put in place and also motivated by the fact that most featured in the provincial teams," Sebola said yesterday.

"We are still negotiating with Bloemfontein Celtic to play against their development sides and also to play against first teams of both National First Division sides Winnerspark and Witbank Spurs," Sebola added.
