Two men, aged 20 and 30, were arrested for possession of unlicenced firearms in Emmarentia, Johannesburg, Gauteng police said yesterday.

Two men, aged 20 and 30, were arrested for possession of unlicenced firearms in Emmarentia, Johannesburg, Gauteng police said yesterday.

Captain Cynthia Magoai said police spotted an Opel Corsa with four male occupants in Letaba Street on Saturday.

When police approached the car, two men fled, one of whom dropped a firearm. It was recovered by police.

The other two were arrested, one of whom was found with a second unlicensed firearm.

The two men are to appear before the Johannesburg magistrate's court today, Magoai said. - Sapa.
