Cape Town-born singer Sasha-Lee Davids gave an awesome performance yesterday during the Idols presentations at Mosaeik Theatre in Fairlands, Johannesburg.

Davids, who started the week well by winning R50000 in the MK Matrix Reality Show, performed with three other contestants to avoid the looming axe tonight.

Davids has been consistent in her performances since the competition started.

This week all the contestants performed two songs - 8th World Wonder by Kimberley Locke and Apologize by One Republic.

In Davids's first performance Dave Thomson said: "You just showed that you are a super woman."

Mara Louw, who was absent last week, was back with a mean mood. She said: "The performance was fantastic and you sang the song well. However, you have to watch your voice on how you place it, especially with higher notes."

Randall Abrahams added: "You have done well since the competition started. However, today you sang the song naturally."

But Davids's second performance got mixed reviews from the judges.

Louw just shook her head saying: "I just do not know what to say."

Gareth Cliff was more positive. "Many people are proud of you. You did well."

"That was a unique performance. You were not artificial," Louw said.
