The PSL is in a frantic search for a venue for a fixture that many South Africans are waiting for - between SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates.

This Absa Premiership match, which could finally decide the 2008-2009 league champions, is set for April 23 at Super Stadium in Atteridgeville.

But Super Stadium has been temporarily closed for renovations by the City of Tshwane.

It has been chosen by the municipality as one of the training venues for the Confederations Cup and 2010 World Cup.

Ace Ncobo, Premier Soccer League general manager, said: "I don't know where the game you are talking about will be played.

"There is no venue in Pretoria [because of the preparations for the two tournaments], we are still trying to secure a venue outside Pretoria.

"If we don't get anything, we may consider playing the match on April 29, but we will make an announcement for everybody to know what is happening."

United officials could not be reached for comment, and Pirates's administrative executive Floyd Mbele was in the dark regarding the venue.

"We are waiting for United and the league to inform us once a suitable venue has been found."

Log leaders Matsatsantsa a Pitori and second-placed Amabhakabhaka are involved in a neck-and-neck race for the title.

l Chiefs will host Mamelodi Sundowns at Kings Park Stadium in Durban on April 23, also due to lack of suitable venues in Tshwane.
