South Africa's Premier Soccer League clubs have once again bombed out in the early stages of the CAF Champions League competition while their continental counterparts are still in contention for glory.

It is said even a tea bag stays longer in a cup than our clubs do in any of the continental cup events that we qualify for.

Both PSL champions SuperSport United and runners-up Ajax Cape Town are licking their wounds and watching proceedings from the sidelines after crashing out last weekend.

The African Soccer Television show this week carries highlights of the game between Ajax and Zimbabwe's Monomotapa FC on SABC1 Sport's Laduma programme that airs on Sunday at 2.30pm.

Ajax were pipped 2-1 in that game.

The CAF Confederations Cup was also in action.

Highlights include an eight- goal thriller from that competition, when Recreativo do Libolo of Angola went through 5-3 against a fired up SO Armee of Ivory Coast.

Other highlights from games around the continent feature the 2009 Independence Cup that saw Botswana edge Namibia 2-1.

There was action all round in the Zimbabwean league when top team Dynamos were given the run-around by Motor Action who beat them 1-0.

Bafana Bafana went to North West not so long ago to honour the yearly Nelson Mandela Challenge where they squared up against Norway and won 2-1.

The victory may be worth watching again for many a local soccer fan.

The 2009 CAF Under-17 Championships third-place playoffs showcases Burkina Faso's hard-earned 2-0 victory over Malawi, while highlights from Algeria's 3-1 pasting of Gambia close the show.
