"The girl was allegedly raped by a 37-year-old man who is her grandfather's friend and neighbour," said Captain Jabulani Mdletshe.
She was apparently raped on Tuesday after her grandfather sent her to fetch cigarettes for him from his friend.
"When the grandfather realised that they girl was not coming back, he sent another boy to check what was holding her. But the boy found the girl naked and sleeping beside the man."
The girl later told police officers that the man had raped her "three times before".
The man was immediately arrested and was expected to appear in court yesterday. - Sapa
