I was recently provoked by an on-line blogger who wrote about FW de Klerk's anger at the government's refusal to grant a visa to the Dalai Lama, yet he was a member of the National Party government that violated many human rights. It made me think about present day opposition parties, especially those led by whites.

I was recently provoked by an on-line blogger who wrote about FW de Klerk's anger at the government's refusal to grant a visa to the Dalai Lama, yet he was a member of the National Party government that violated many human rights. It made me think about present day opposition parties, especially those led by whites.

For example, Helen Zille and most leaders in the DA are not young and not immigrants, neither are the Mulders and other leaders of the FF+.

Why is it that they never publicly criticised the then apartheid government and its policies, like they do with the new government?

The answer is simple - they saw how bad apartheid was but could not care less because they and their families were safe and had all the benefits that white people had.

Black people were by law sub-human. Only history can tell of the brutality that was visited on blacks by the then government and its agencies.

Now that black people are in government, the DA and FF+ are screaming their lungs out at just about anything and any policy of the ANC government.

Newspapers and TV are full of these people protesting and proclaiming high morals and a "future for all". What future? What I find even more intriguing is that we, black people, flock in numbers to vote for the same hypocrites. I suspect severe symptoms of amnesia in some of us. Somebody, save us from ourselves.
