One man was arrested and eight others are being sought by police after two ATMs were bombed in Kamesh, near Uitenhage.

One man was arrested and eight others are being sought by police after two ATMs were bombed in Kamesh, near Uitenhage.

Inspector Marianette Olivier said at about 1am yesterday two ATMs in Bloekom Street were bombed and an unknown amount of money taken.

Police gave chase to three vehicles believed to be used by the robbers. They came under fire from the vehicles' occupants.

The men ditched two bakkies stolen in Port Elizabeth and fled into the bushes.

The third vehicle was found and one man arrested. - Sapa
